2020 Programme – Coming Soon!

Over the summer 2019, we developed what we offer into a regular repeating programme:

  • the 3rd Saturday every month for our adult film programme (every 2nd month being an up-to-the-minute show – chosen from the most recent general releases we can get under our license);
  • the 1st and 3rd Friday every month for kid’s shows (except for the summer holidays);
  • plus special showings for local groups by arrangement.

The full programme for the year ahead is COMING SOON.

We also plan to produce a new easy-to-read quick reference flyer for Friday and Saturday night programmes.When it’s ready, you can download it direct from here.

The HOME page now has Film Forres screenings for January (including the first 2020 Friday Kids’ night).

Special Screenings

We’ve also introduced special screenings where we’ll support any group to show a film of their choice. Film Forres will provide technical assistance, projection and front-of-house volunteers. We can advise on licensing, publicity, and event logistics. We have expertise in presentation, public speaking, funding, and event planning and management. All any group needs is to have an idea, provide volunteers of their own to assist (especially in any aspects that relate to what they want to do) and bring in their audience or help target any publicity to reach them.

Our 2019 offering Her was the first of these. In collaboration with Glasgow School of art’s Innovation School, we showed the film as part of a project for graduate student, Lina Wilckens. The screening included (for those who wanted to take part) a chance to make notes on the film and discuss it afterwards. The topic of interest was about how gender affects our relationship with devices (for example, Alexa or Siri). Unfortunately, Lina was unable to lead the final discussion and one of her colleagues stood in for her. The results of her various research groups on the subject were shown in a small exhibition in the Falconer Museum.

We are also planning three trial matinee screenings for older people (supported by the Auchernack Trust, the first of these will be The Ladykillers (1955 version with Alec Guinness) on the 18th of September.

Our full programme will be updated here and on the Home Page.
